Oiling X rods is good. Here's why

I did some research about the usage of bronze and graphite bushing for "self lubricating" rods and want to share it with the internet.

Please, comment by referencing a book, a website or whatever you prefer, but do not create confusion by reporting something you read casually from a stranger on the internet. Thanks

Here's a list of features of bronze and graphite bushings I found: - Self Lubricated when standard lubrication is impractical

  • Performs well under various loads, types, and speed operations. They are often the go-to choice in high-load and low-speed applications

  • Resists corrosive and hostile environments

  • Excellent performance in medium to high temperatures up to 600° F

  • Compatible with most viscous lubricants & Oil and Grease applications

I think is pretty easy to apply oil or grease to X axis of Creality K1 printers, the environment is not corrosive and temperatures are not that high.

I appreciate the effort anyone here made for not damaging the printer any further by applying the grease provided with the printer, which is thick and may have cause difficult movements of the toolhead. I apply some drops of a thin oil for brass instrument valves and I'm also aware oiling the rods can wear them faster but remember those are mechanical parts and any mechanical part can break and replaced too.

Hope to have an insightful conversation in the comments.
