RWBY Ozpin cane build?

Lookin to try and build a functional cane for an Oscar Pine cosplay, the idea is to just make a handle that can house one of those collapsible pocket staffs (you know the ones) and be able to deploy it using the trigger on the handle - not really much of a builder so I was looking for ideas on how to execute it or if there's a more appropriate subreddit for this.
