Why are HDMI port repairs so frequent?

Basically the title. I use a laptop for work and I am constantly plugging and unplugging my HDMI cable to my second monitor, I have never had a port failure and the connection is still a good tight fit.

Why would an HDMI be so beaten up on a console that is intended to be stationary? Do people just pick these things up and take it their friends everyday? Just curious and confused.
