Matt Fraction
I know this is likely a stretch but after an admittedly brief search which yielded no positive results, I’m turning to Reddit.
I’m looking to get ahold of Matt Fraction. He wrote Hawkeye #19. I teach an American Sign Language class and am developing a unit on Deaf Culture and entertainment. I wanted to connect with Mr. Fraction to ask a few questions and (I know it’s a long shot) get him to Zoom with my class.
The only link I saw for contact was through an agency which books appearances for famous people. I’m a teacher so my budget is $0, although I can offer a gift card as a thank you as that is the only payment our district approves. It’s very likely he’ll be uninterested on the merits of the request, or because his time is worth money and I’m not offering any. That’s all valid, but I won’t know what he’s willing to do without asking.
Does anyone know where he can be reached—maybe a link or a publication he is currently working for which would have a corporate email?
I’m sorry, I am not in the comic book world. My request may be entirely inappropriate but I am interested as it relates to my classroom and educational goals. Thank you
UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who offered help or suggestions. This is genuinely the most supportive subreddit I’ve had experience with. I have tried connecting the Matt Fraction via a couple different methods and am just waiting to hear back. I was able to connect with David Aja through Bluesky and just sent him my initial email with more information.
UPDATE 2: Heard from David Aja—what an awesome guy! He answered all my questions, gave me some valuable back story which will provide discussion material for my students. He is understandably busy for the next little bit with projects but offered to chat in the future if it was needed
UPDATE 3: Thank you everyone for your assistance in getting in touch with Matt and David. Like all of you, they were happy to help and answer questions. Matt just connected with me via email and I’ll be responding to him tonight. Everyone in this endeavour—Matt, David, Kelly Sue, and all of you have been amazing. Both Matt and David have been willing to answer questions. My unit is not fully built out so who knows if there will be continued involvement, but even just having some questions answered from the creatives themselves is endlessly valuable.
