Family, Community, Homeland
Mr Oracle gives a speech in Alberta South to a few hundred NDP supporters all holding banners of Fight for the Future, Fight, Fight, Fight and A country that works for everyone
Good evening Alberta !!, how are we all doing !!
Tonight I want to talk to you about some of the three core principles of the NDP under my leadership and those are Family, Community, and Homeland.
First let's look at family, family is the bedrock of western civilization, it's how we operate as units and it's how we work together to build a community, the Family right now is facing quite severe pressures, currently the birthrate sits at just 1.26 children per woman.
This is unsustainable if we are going to continue to keep relying on systems like Pensions and the Welfare State as we know it, the less people we have being born to fill the general workforce, the more money we are gonna have to spend on welfare and social care.
This is partly why the NDP is advocating for a Universal Basic Income, not because we went people sitting around doing nothing, but because we want families to have breathing room to be able to raise children if they do choose to do so.
Not a single person should ever have to feel guilty for bringing a child into this world.
Next let's talk about Community.
As I said earlier families build community, it's the neighbours we see at the local pub, it's the bunch of dad's who play soccer or hockey together at the weekend.
It's built slowly through time and trust, but across Canada and most of western society today, that trust has broken down, this is why the NDP always takes the Community Matters approach to politics.
You can debate policy for weeks and month's on end but untill your actually lived in a community and seen what happens on the ground level you can't make effective policy, this is why all my candidates to some degree have been doing work experience in their key ridings, to get to know their constituents.
Community is key to restoring trust in society.
And finally we have Homeland
Our homeland isn't just something on a map or the history we learn about at school, it's what we are building every second of every minute, it's where you raise your kids, it's where the dads get together to play hockey, our Homeland is Canada a place worth fighting for, and that is why the NDP is going to build a country that works for everyone, by fighting for our future, thank you!!
