Wow classic question

So I'm currently playing classic wow and we're about to go into MOP. I really didn't play these expansions so I like what this classic cycle is going through. My question is will these continue as far as we know? Is it worth farming mounts and achievements on the none retail version?

Is there some where I can find more detailed information on this?
