La Valse for a wedding?
My mom's a big classical music lover and I'm a bit of an agent of chaos, so I was thinking it'd be fun to use La Valse (by Ravel) as the piece for the Mother/Groom dance as a way of adhering to tradition while also undermining it. The trick is getting a good 2-3 minute snippet from the piece that doesn't have a time signature change while still capturing the iconoclastic character of the composition.
If you use this link as a reference https://open.spotify.com/track/485e2gUbRwqwLyODs5yZ1L?si=d0c500ed4a324cc1 for example, I think I'd pick the section beginning at about 1:20 and ending at 3:45 as the most easy to waltz but it falls a bit short in the chaos. I'd be interested if anyone has any more adventurous suggestions!
