With his growing strength, it's almost proven that is win against Magnus was indeed legit. Do you think Magnus, Hikaru and chess world in general owe him some kind of apology?
Ofcourse he had cheated previously and that triggered the suspicions and that itself is not entirely wrong. But between him cheating and him defeating Magnus, he still had played and won multiple games. So it now kinda feels unfair that only his win against Magnus was viewed so negatively. The irony is, even after he has proven his strength now (classical top 20, a blitz top 5 player at 21 years), there is still a negative aura that surrounds him. Despite his liking for drama, what he has done is pretty impressive. The stage he was at after that game with Magnus, I don't think a lot of players would have withstood that much hate and still continued and thrived like he did. Also, for anyone else, that would probably have ended their chess career and killed theur confidence forever. Although they were right in having suspicions, now that it's very likely that their suspicions were wrong(atleast about the game in question), they should make it up to him somehow. Like , Magnus inviting him to one of Magnus invitational tournaments, that will take out some bad blood and eliminate the unnecessary drama in chess world surrounding this incident. That would create a healthy rivalry rather than an animosity and it would be particularly interesting with someone as outspoken as Hans.
