2008 CBR600RR burning smell on startup

I just bought a 2008 CBR600RR this past week. I deeply inspected the bike when I bought it and everything seemed to check out.

I rode it home around 200 miles and the next day when I came out to start it, I noticed a burning plastic smell coming from the front end. This smell happened like 5 seconds after starting the bike and lasted a few minutes.

I ignored it, but then it happened again today. I got down and inspected the fairings, wires, and tried to see if anything was touching the headers but it seems fine. This smell seems to go away after returning from a ride and at stoplights if I lean down onto the tank I can’t smell it.

It’s really bad immediately after starting the bike and until I get going. Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this issue? I’ve smelled burning oil before and this doesn’t seem to be like that. It’s very plastic/electrical smelling and I’m afraid to be tearing into this bikes electronics after not even owning it a week lol.

Bike is also under 10k miles so I really don’t expect this…
