Joseph Phillips vs. Andrew Ramdayal - Help Me Decide
I don’t want to beat a dead horse about this, but I’m trying to decide which course to take for the CAPM. I get this question has been asked before, but most of the reddit threads I could find were before the CAPM test was updated last year, so I’m looking for a fresher perspective. I should also mention that I’m unfamiliar with most of the concepts in project management, so I’m starting from scratch and I’m also looking to not just past the test but to learn too. Udemy is giving me a new-learner offer, so each course is only CAD$19.99, so price isn’t a factor in deciding. My plan for studying is to use this course and go through the PMBOK, and also do some practice books/online exams.
From what I understand, the JP course seems to be the go-to course that people do and is recommended. It looks like a solid option, and apparently the first half of the sections is the updated part, and the second half is for the older test - if that’s true, then it shouldn’t be the full 44 hours it says it is. People have said that this one’s practice tests aren’t as good and it’s less thorough, and based on the previews in comparison to AP’s, JP is more ramble-y.
For AP’s, it seems like it’s only the updated content for the exam and the course content sections are broken down more logically (in my opinion). Based on the previews, it seems like AP is more focused, engaging, and teaches you what you need to know. It seems like more recently, most people are recommending this course, and I’m currently leaning towards this one
Let me know what you think and why, I’m itching to get the process started :)
