PR Processing Backlog

I read an article showing significant reductions in the immigration application backlog. In that same article, it said Canada already has 836,900 applications under processing which is enough to meet the 2025 and 2026 targets.

Does that mean we can expect to see even further reductions of ITAs and even stiffer cut off scores (540-550+)?

I know PR was never a "guarantee" and I already have a plan in place to leave Canada following my PGWP expiry. But I think it's fair to feel some sort of frustration. Not that my words can change anything.

EDIT: Thanks everyone for your responses. To be honest, I am slowly losing myself with the high stress of gaining a PR so I’m looking into things too deeply. At the end of the day, only the IRCC & Provincial Governments know what’s happening/will happen with immigration plans and I/we can only wait and see. I’m still working towards strengthening my profile even further and I hope that one day, my efforts will prevail.
