High altitude car camping in Los Padres (SoCal)?

Was gonna go up and base camp at Chilao in Angeles national Forest but Silver moccasin Trail is basically closed down due to fire restrictions. Trying to make a plan B work so… I am looking for recommendations for high altitude car camping locations that have a good trail head in Los Padres national Forest. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!
