Refinish or replace 1958 kitchen?

Hi All, I’d like some opinions on if my 1958 kitchen cabinets are something worth saving/refinishing, or they are nothing special and I should start fresh? The rest of the house is essentially a time capsule so the current kitchen fits with the theme and doesn’t bother me - I actually think the faces of the drawers are really unique and I am a fan. The cabinets themselves have a lot of built-ins, 2x lazy susans and there are two sets of cabinets with built in deep drawers. The interior shelves are pine plywood and they are still covered in the original coat of lead paint. The sides and faces of the cabinets seem to be a birch veneer if I am not mistaken. There are two areas with larger pieces of veneer missing from the sides. This and the time invested into refinishing are my major concerns about this project, and the fact that the faces appear to be a veneer have me questioning if this is something worth saving. The layout itself works fine for my needs and I installed the countertops a few years ago. The only thing I would change with new cabinets is replacing the wall oven and cooktop with a combined unit. Would you refinish or replace in my situation? Thank you!
