Buffy was supposed to be with angel for life

My statement was loaded to peak your interest, Now that you’re here, I felt like angel was almost perfect for Buffy because he understood how to fight evil and she couldn’t get that with a mortal. She knew this and that’s why she wanted to be with him so bad. I feel like throughout all of the other love interests she had she tried to replicate what bond she had with angel. Thoughts?
