The Name of Wind. I don't get it.
Anytime i see "Best Fantasy in the last 25 years" this book is either at top or near it. I was super excited to read about a man, a legend to be specific, retell his story on how he ended up in a owning a tavern, a contrast to the adventurous tales i read in synopsis.
But oh my god do I hate the main character. Kvothe is a Mary Sue. He is smart, a good at everything and has that quirky physical trait of having orange hair.
The story doesn't feel like it progresses fast enough to warrant 1000 pages. With multiple rambling story lines, some murder mystery element that felt unsatisfying, and dialogue between the main character and his love interest is was so cringe-worthy I wondered why the author wrote it.
I just don't get this book.
