Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr
I'm midway through this expansive novel, and I'm slowly growing to enjoy it. Doerr uses the ancient Greek tale not just as a plot device; he weaves the entire book into the novel, as far as I can see. There are at least four separate stories contained in the novel: Anna/Omeir, Zeno/Seymour, Konstance, and the Greek text itself.
I find the alternating timelines to be tedious, but the stories seem to be weaving together. I don't think this novel is as lyrical as "All the Light We Cannot See", but his prose is still magnificent.
What are you thoughts on this? Love it? Hate it?
