What happens to the Dragon Token?

I currently have a dragon (not physical; I ate it a while ago) and the dragon token. Since I can't use my dragon fruit, I wondered if I should eat a different fruit and play with it until they make an announcement.

If I eat my leopard, will my dragon token disappear from my inventory?
