Has any of the members talked about why, considering the first 3 albums they made with Dio were pretty akin to his style, did they decide to make The Devil You Know a full on doom album?
And overall I believe is the only full on doom record of Dio's career (correct me if I'm wrong)
Yes, there' s doom present on parts on those first 3 records, most notably on Sign of the Southern Cross, but overall they were more fast paced and tighter.
So I'm wondering if they're ever spoken about the change they made for their final record with Dio, to make it slow and doomy. I know, for 13, that they went to doom because Rick Rubin wanted them to go back to basics. But what about TDYK?
