Which Fanbase do you think has had All-Time Down in the Dump Vibes when at one point things were looking amazing?
This whole Mavericks thing has gotten me wondering, what are some of the worst times it felt crappy to be a fan of a franchise when at a time everything was looking great?
A few I have thought of - 2012 Chicago Bulls: Youngest MVP ever with Drose, Rookie Jimmy Butler, then Rose tears his ACL
-2019 Colts: 3 weeks before the season starts and finally having the best roster Andrew Luck will have had, Luck retires from football and it becomes a roller coaster of QB's
-Brooklyn Nets which there's arguably 3 different scenarios they were down in the dump:
-First one: “New team in town and they just traded for KG and Pierce!” to “Oh my god Pierce and KG are well past their primes and we traded how many picks?”
-Second one: “wait those picks turned into Tatum and Brown and our best player is D'angelo Russell?”
-Last One: end of the Harden, Kyrie, KD era. Nets were a KD toe away from beating the Bucks in the playoffs and arguably being a heavy favorite after if they had won, if Harden and Kyrie don’t get hurt they probably could have won, tough for Nets fans but they at least had some light to shine on that and able to look forward to the future, then Harden wants out, Kyrie wants out, then KD wants out, and suddenly you’re left going to games watching Ben Simmons turn into a shell of himself and Cam Thomas taking 25 shots a game.
Obviously being a fan of like the Wizards, Kings, or Hornets has been pretty brutal over the last 20 years but I was mostly thinking when there was a time being a fan of that team you had high hopes then one day it all flips upside down and you're one of the most down in the dump fanbases at that time.
