Does my fish look normal and healthy?

I have had Chilow for a few weeks now, he’s definitely seemed to warm up to things in his tank. He swims straight to the front of the tank when I come in to check on him (feeding or not). I do notice that sometimes he spits out his flakes. Any tips of how to limit this? And any beginner tips and advice? Thanks!
