Body cream pilling?

Has anyone else experienced this or know why this is happening to me? I just got out of the shower and my skin was extra crispy dry so I used a new tube of butterfly body cream and noticed as I was rubbing it in my leg that it started pilling. I thought maybe I didn't rub it in enough so I used my finger and it just rolled up instead of spreading 😭 I thought maybe the cream was too old so I used a new macaron cloud body cream on my arm and it did the same thing. Is this common? The lotions and butters don't do this to me only the creams. You can kinda see in the photos the residue it's leaving behind on my skin. I don't want to get rid of all my creams but I also don't like this
