Fish finder

I want to pick up a fish finder sometime soon for the spring/summer seasons. I’m wanting to be around $300-450 preferably on the lower end to start. With that being said, is Side imaging worth it for the extra money, or would I be better off saving some money and going only down imaging? And what’s the best options at this price point?
