Checkered deck, my first red stake win and highest ante yet, but think I could have done better?

I think I made at least two key mistakes before this point, but want to get input from folks more experienced than I:

1) I should have started adding steel cards sooner (those were my only 2 in the whole deck).
2) I screwed up by playing blueprint next to Photograph on the prior ante so I had to play a flush to get past Ox, causing me to lose all my $$, which I really could have used on this ante.
