Healing Back Pain - John Sarno - What's the Hype?
I just listened to the audiobook for Sarno's "Healing Back Pain." I have heard that this book has helped many people, and was excited to listen to it with an open mind and hopeful it would help me. However, it felt like 3 hours of annectodal stories of him saying how someone had a type of back pain, then they came to see him, and now they don't. He just briefly explained his theory and didn't give much if any tips on how to address the emotions or anger that are contributing to pain. The closest thing to something actional was his 12 daily reminders in the last 20 minutes of the book.
Is the audiobook different than the real book? What am I missing? It felt more like a testemonial to a self-help book then an actual book.
