Change resistance while streaming video?

Does anyone know how to see and/or change the resistance while streaming video? It appears that the big arrows do change the resistance while streaming (I can hear the machine moving the magnets in the flywheel portion), but there's no way to see the current resistance setting, so I can't tell for sure if it's doing what I expect, or what level of resistance I have set.

Even if there is a way to set the resistance on the main screen, before entering YouTube, that'd be something.

Am I missing something?
