loss of tongue fuzz.
18F here. I’ve noticed that about two months ago, the papillae (the small bumps that give the tongue its “fuzzy” texture) on my tongue started disappearing, and a large patch became smooth and glossy. It seems to have spread over time, and I can still taste, but the affected area feels different. Additionally, there are visible dents on the sides of my tongue.
I also have a vitamin D deficiency, and I’ve been experiencing worsening swallowing difficulties. (Which are most likely digestive related/LPR related.) I’m a bit concerned and wondering if anyone has experienced something similar. Could this be related to my vitamin D deficiency, a deficiency in another vitamin, or a medical condition? Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated! Also, as you can tell I ate chips before snapping a picture because I realized that the area has gotten worse.
