What first Car should I buy?

I’m a 21-year-old looking to buy my first car. Since I live in the North, I need an AWD vehicle with a reliable drivetrain, good fuel efficiency, and ample cargo space. A well-designed interior is also a plus. As I’m set to become an Army Officer after graduation, I need something that aligns with my lifestyle both now and in the future.

I’m debating between buying a budget-friendly, reliable beater now and upgrading in 3-5 years or investing in a vehicle I can drive for 8+ years, knowing my income and preferences may evolve.
