Dishwasher fills with water when not in use, and it smells awful.

Dishwasher fills with about 2-3 inches of water, and it smells absolutely awful. We’re in an apartment with nothing but problems so I wouldn’t be shocked, and the drains in the sink smell AWFUL. We have called maintenance who told us there was no issue, and we have poured vinegar and baking soda down to mask the smell hoping it clears up the “algae” because we live in Florida where that issue is common here in our pipes.

We did have some kind of blockage in our building that forced them to turn off the water for a day?? Idk if any of this is linked but would love to hear from someone who knows more than us!
