What can we expect next week?
Hello, first I want to say I am so, so excited to visit your country!!
Next week, I'll be close to Johannesburg for outdoor adventures. What kind of weather should I expect? And: is Johannesburg really as dangerous as many people say??
The week after Johannesburg, we'll drive down the Garden Route to Kapstadt. "We" are two German women. I'm kind of afraid of robbery - especially when sitting in the rented car in traffic.. I'm very sorry for what prejudice is, and I'm looking forward to meeting the real South Africa! Will it be very windy?
(I love your flag, btw. 🇿🇦 )
We're vegan. What can we expect about trying local food?
What should we not miss to learn about history, apartheid, locals, wildlive protection, etc? I don't want to visit the country blindly by only seeing the bright, touristic spots. We already are planning a guided tour through a township in Kapstadt. Is this a good idea or rather insensitive tourism?
Edit: Do you have recommendations for southafrican authors with English/German books?
