Going on my first "real" rotation to Europe. What should I look into in terms of communication and electronics?

I've been to Europe on two separate occasions. Norway for a month in 2018 and Germany for 3 months in 2021. Won't say where to this time around for security reasons. But every time I've gone over seas, it was never really made clear what to do about phone lines to stay connected to family back home. However, we just had a brief thos last week suggesting a few things like pre loaded sim cards and wifi pucks. I still have a few months until I leave to prepare. What suggestions do you have on brands or companies to look into so I can keep in touch with my wife and kids? It isn't really clear what the living situation will be. There's a mix of word that we'll either stay in tent city or barracks. One way or the other, I know there will at least be plenty of electricity for general living. I also plan on bringing my PS5 but I'm worried about getting it out there safely. Obviously, it won't fit in my carry on and all I have left is my ruck and a duffle (our B bags are already in conexes). Most of, if not all my gear will fit in my ruck and I'll be packing civilian junk in my duffle. I'm thinking I'll it packed in that but I'm just worried about my bags being tossed around. Any suggestions on keeping it safe would be helpful.

I'd also appreciate any extra tips and advice. I'll be out there for 9 months and I've never spent that much time away, so anything on how to stay busy while I'm off duty would be great. I'm already bringing my laptop and Switch and I'm planning on getting swoll out there. Lol.

Thank you all in advance!
