How far away is the next spinoff?

Since I can't seem to get enough of Arcane (it's a hell of a drug), now I'm trying to predict when the hell the next show will come out (which is funny knowing that by that time I will probably have moved on to other things :'(

Anyway, now that Arcane is over, I assume the creative team is technically back to square one. Let's say the next project's a TV series that was greenlit and Riot's willing to put money on it. Considering that it took them around 6 years to finish the first season, and the next show's been in development for around a year (meaning they probably started writing some things around the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024), I'd say the next spinoff will be released between 2028 and 2029. Though If we consider the writers are probably elaborating on ideas they came up with years ago, there could be a good chance it comes out between 2027-2028.

I personally think there's a better chance it comes out in 2029, or even 2030, even if the writers aren't starting from scratch. Arcane allegedly took forever to be finished bc it was a really huge project for a group of people without any background on TV writing. They might be able to work faster this time around but, you know, shit can always happen.

I feel like we can expect to get an official announcement between this year and 2027.

Hopefully everything goes well and we see the next installment in a few years. Now, let's wait for more updates🧎‍♂️
