Doyou thinkVi knew what Jinx was planning?
So, I was rewatching S2 E8, and the part where Jinx locks Vi in the cell stuck to me. Jinx goes on a little ramble on how Vi deserved to be happy and then she drops the keys while saying that there's no good version of her, all of this while backpedalling (not sure this is the right word, sorry, english isn't my first language), and after that Vi asks: "What are you gonna do?"
I guess my question here is: Do you think that, when Vi asked that, she was already thinking that Jinx was about to kill herself? Because to me, that didn't sound much like an accusing tone, it felt more like a worried one. But then the aftermath of it...
I mean, let's properly think abt it from Vi's POV: So you have an estranged sister who is definitely not okay in the head, and acts very flimsy and unpredictable. She tends to have psychotic breaks and self-sabotage/ self-distruct frequently, and instead of inherently evil, seems more like someone who constantly makes bad decisions out of complex feelings of grief, isolation and betrayal. In summary, she just seems unstable and hard to read all throughout.
After a big fight you wake up to find that her, your criminal psychotic(literally) sister, gave herself away to the police (and you KNOW this was right after someone she really cared about died) with no resistance at all, and didn't care about anything else but you being okay.
Considering that and recent past events, you think she changed, so you go to free her from her cell, and there you find her curled up in a ball seeming severely depressed and disheartened. But then, right after saying "You're never gonna give up on me, are you?", she punches you in the stomach and locks YOU inside the cell to escape, even though you are both aware that you would have happily freed her yourself.
When you look at her, she doesn't seem exactly psyched out, and the first thing she tells you is that you don't have to worry about her anymore. Then she proceeds to go on a rant about how you deserve to be happy and how there's no good version of her before leaving and letting you alone in there.
To me, even if you didn't have all of the context Vi has, just from her recent mannerisms (which aren't common to her) you could probably already sense that she was about to do something to herself, right?
Based on that, my first instinct is to say yes, Vi knew, or at least had an idea of it, but then the more I put everything else into account, the less clear it becomes to me.
After Caitlyn comes to free Vi, more than worried, she looks annoyed with herself. And while that could mean that she is frustrated that let her guard down while Jinx was in such a fragile state, the first thing in seeming relation to that frustration that she says is: "I really believed she'd help."
Then she proceeds to say that Cait is right and: "I was an idiot to trust her."
Like, doesn't all of this sound like Vi had virtually no clue on what Jinx is planning here? Because no matter how annoyed I was that I let myself be fooled by my sister, that would definitely not be in my top priorities if I have in mind that she is going to do something to herself.
So obviously this leads me to think that Vi doesn't know then, because it would be really weird if she did know her sister was about to kill herself and she was like "Great, now she's off to kill herself. Damn, why did I trust that she would help us fight, man?"
But then, after all of that that I put into perspective above, how could she not have even a tiny hunch??? Like, I get she knows how unpredictable Jinx is, but c'mon, there's no way she didn't find the way Jinx was talking worrisome. That would ring suicidal!! alarm bells on anyone (wouldn't it? Am I going crazy???).
I don't know, I think I need some more nuanced perspectives on this. What do you guys think?
