[S2 Act 3 Spoilers] Victor & Jayce Storyline, Lingering Questions
Minor Question (S2:E8 - 21:24 left) What is Victor looking at at this moment?
Another Will Within Him? (S2:E6 - 38:06 left) Victor: “That isn't Jayce. There is another will at work within him.” What is Victor referring to? And what ancient voice is Sky and Victor talking about hearing just before the portal closed?
Jayce's Logic? (S2:E9 - 14:29 left) If this speech/reveal by Victor actually happened right before Jayce was sent back to his timeline, that means that Jayce heard Victor say: “Only you can show me this” before he did all he did in the previous episodes. If this is true, then why did he immediately try to stop Victor by force alone? Maybe I understand killing Salo, to prevent Victor from growing any stronger, but why does he shoot Victor with his hammer as soon as he finds him at the cult place? If Jayce had instead touched Victor in that moment, Victor would have been able to see the dystopian future of Piltover and hear Future Victor's speech right then, most likely convincing Victor to stop pursuing his goal. Basically, if Future Victor tells Jayce that he's the only one that can show him the error of his ways, why does Jayce wait to do so until the last 15 minutes of the series?
Victor Was the Wizard the Whole Time? It seems like they are retconning the design of the wizard from S1:E2 to more match the reveal that it was Victor the whole time. In S1:E2, the wizard has tattoos and lines on his hands and fingers, but in the “flashback” scenes in the finale, the hand dropping the runestone doesn't appear to have those markings anymore. How exactly was that wizard Victor the whole time? Does Victor's ascension to a higher plane of existence give him the ability to see or go to different timelines? And if he has to ascend first, why doesn't this Victor have a split face like the Victor in the main timeline?
Theory: This Victor comes from a timeline where hextech never gets invented cause maybe Jayce and his Mother die in the blizzard. He learns the ways of the Arcane to keep himself alive then eventually goes down the same path of our Victor, leading to “fields of dreamless solitude.” With his new power, this Victor goes back in time or views different timelines to see which one could stop this from happening. He discovers that his relationship with Jayce is the only way to convince his past self to stop, so he goes back and saves young Jayce and his mother. He tests different runes until getting the right one that would lead to Ekko creating the time device and giving Jayce the opening he needed to speak with Victor. I don't know how Victor has time powers since they never show that before, and I don't know how alternate Victor learns of Jayce's importance in the first place, but it's just a theory.
