LG Fridge Ice Maker Smells like Garlic

We have an LG French Door Refrigerator with ice maker (no water dispenser). We’ve lived in this house for just over 2 years now and probably about 6 months after moving in, I noticed that the ice cubes from our freezer ice maker had an odor. I honestly thought it was just the tap water for the entire time (I would smell it mostly while drinking ice water). This odor is almost garlic-y and it sticks around. If I touch the ice, it will be on my fingers for a few days! Some other things in the freezer will sometimes get this odor as well, like onto the packaging. But it really only affects the ice. Even if I use a regular old ice tray, it will still absorb this odor. I’ve cleaned the freezer. We’ve taken the ice maker somewhat apart and cleaned it. We did notice when we first pulled it apart, there was some blue staining in the ice tray, not sure what that is. We’ve thought about calling a tech to come check it out but at the same time I don’t want to pay someone if it’s something I can do…anyone else had this issue or know of a possible solution? I just want to use ice cubes again and I’m slowly caving towards getting a countertop ice maker 🥲
