Doom boxes Vs. Doom bags

My sister once came over and tried to help me clean/organize my room. She started shoving things into the stash of shopping bags I had and I could no longer find things. Years later, I am still finding a bag or two with random "sorted" stuff in it.

I have a few square-ish baskets (which are just boxes but prettier) I use in the common space in my house for my clutter. It doesn't look like clutter when I shove stuff into the baskets for an end-of-day tidying, and it is easy to move for parties-plus our monthly house parties are a great trigger for weeding out a third of the stuff in said baskets before moving them back into the common area. When there are random bags in my area they become an amorphous pile and get shoved wherever when it is time to clean out the common areas, thus get lost.

Please, for the love of all that's holy, if someone wants to "help" you, make them use boxes. Boxes are ridgid and stay out, are easier to see and remember. Bags collapse and get shoved everywhere and you can't find them, and it's not always obvious that there is stuff in them. It took me months to find critical items that I used regularly, just not daily, after the incident.

TLDR: Boxes are superior to bags.
