The Pit

It dawned on me that we've been watching Shauna whittle sticks into spears (or A stick into A spear....might be jumping the gun with the plural). Though not intended when first made, I reckon they'll form the stakes for the pit.

But, as wild and somewhat depraved as the yellowjackets have become, I don't think the stake trap will be their idea. And it'll be for trapping game and not humans.

I'm thinking it'll be Kody's idea, with his back country and hunting knowledge....and potential military history. He's also old enough to have served on the ground at the back end of the Vietnam war, where punji stake traps really entered the American psyche (as they were all over the news).
