Nat, patron saint of forgiving everyone but herself
The sick satisfaction Shauna gets from sentencing Natalie to the task of butchering Ben is just so…depraved.
It made me think about how Natalie was immediately willing to offer to help Shauna dismember Adam’s corpse in S1. Sure, she was pressing Shauna for information about Travis the whole time, but still! She’s better than me because I’d never get past how cruel she was and I could never forgive her.
Which, in turn, made me think of that scene in S2 when Nat is warning Lisa to leave the compound/ stay out of the woods because she was trying to protect her. As Nat’s leaving the room she tells Lisa she appreciates her trying to teach her (Nat) forgiveness. She sounds sad and defeated when she follows it up with “it’s a nice idea.” It’s so sad that Nat could forgive others but never herself.
