To what extent do you think X changed really?
We all saw the visual aspects of his evolution. It was also evident in the way he spoke in 2018 as opposed to the years prior. He was pretty transparent about how much he was trying to be better and different.
The elephant in the room... we all know that he was awaiting trial for his charges. He was about to be locked up for a very long time. It's not too far fetched to think that a young man at 20 years of age might believe he has some leverage to appear innocent to the court. It very well could've been an act. He was manipulative, and a compulsive liar, often making himself look better in certain situations.
Then again, the people around him even said that he was changing for the better. Who's to say what went on behind closed doors though? We'll never know the real him that he chose not to share with the public.
I love this man to death. I idolized him as a teen, much like a lot of this fanbase. That's the scary part. I think he knew just how much power he held over his younger fans.
I believe he wanted to change, but wasn't quite there yet. He had a lot to make up for. Unfortunately, we never got to see that progress. There are some parts of yourself that you will never rid of permanently. X was no exception.
TLDR: How much of his change do you think was real? How much of it do you think was an act to make himself appealing to his upcoming court case?
