I made a BIG mistake on standard pulls

I recently started (2 weeks ago) and I recently notice I'm making a big mistake spending my standards pulls into the selected resonator banner instead of the weapon. I am screwed? Should I finish the banner until I get the standar 5*? UL 42. Have Lingyan, Verina and Phoebe
