A recent bug fix made it so that Temple's abilities are no longer affected by Ripper Wail's heat damage bonus. Pyrotechnics has lots its purpose in Temple's kit and this bug should be turned into a feature.

As of Hotfix 38.5.3:

Fixed Temple's Ripper's Wail heat damage bonus applying to Abilities instead just to Primary, Secondary, and Melee Weapons.

Pyrotechnics became little more than a tickle after this change. It was viable and fun to build around before the hotfix, and it was not even remotely overpowered, as it fit pretty nicely in the roster of nuking frames. It would be a shame to have this be relegated to the dedicated subsume slot in many players' eyes. I hope DE reconsiders this.
