Do I ask for both IDs?

Had two guys come in buying cherry cough syrup and sprite and I asked for both IDs. They got bent out of shape and threatened me saying “you gotta go home at some point”. I know it’s an empty threat and they are mad they couldn’t get their lean but I would still have to see both IDs right?
