App icons in Vision Pro should really be orbs
As titled. Apple claimed that visionOS is a 3D operating system, yet, icons in the home menu are essentially 2D, which I personally feel somewhat lackluster. These icons have limited depth, with elements slightly lifting when focused upon, quite conservative to be honest.
I propose that it would be better for Apple to transform these icons into fully realized 3D orbs, like what they have done for Siri. Icons should mirror real-world objects, embodying volume and depth rather than being two flat layers. Doing so also provides hints for distinguishing between apps that are spatially designed and optimized, and those that are simply iPad compatible apps.
I guess we'll have to wait for Vsion Pro's 'iOS 7 moment' for a complete overhaul.
