Veterinary Nursing Initiative- where are we in terms of legality (US- specifically)

I know that for several years a subgroup of NAVTA, the Veterinary Nursing Initiative, has been pushing for the change in title from “Veterinary Technician” to “Veterinary Nurse.” I’m not looking for pros and cons of each side, I’m wondering specifically where we are with the legality of companies hiring “Veterinary Nurses” or for “Veterinary Nursing” positions? To the best of my knowledge, the VNI has not yet secured changes to any laws, so we should not- legally anyway- be posting positions including “Nurse” unless residing in a country where that is the accepted term. The internet articles I’m finding about current standings on this are dated 2016-2018, does anyone have any recent articles or knowledge of where the profession stands, today, on this wording? TIA
