It doesn't matter how much time passes. A spoiler is still a spoiler.

I'm so sick of this after-the-fact justification. You've heard it before, "it's been [x] years, if you haven't watched [y] yet it's your own fault." Like come on, you expect everybody to be on the same page and have watched every single show on TV? There are a million reasons why someone may not have sat down to give something a watch yet. Some people may not have heard of it until last week, other people may have a list of things they're already trying to get through, and some people may have not even been born for the first decade of the show's lifespan. You don't know what people have going on specifically, and just because you watched this show 18 years ago doesn't mean everyone else has had that opportunity.

I'm venting about a TV show spoiler specifically, but this excuse can be used for any media. Please, if you want to talk about the end of your favorite piece of media, do it in a way that minimizes the chance of spoiling it for someone else. Don't just drop season 8's twist ending in a youtube comment for a scene 5 seasons earlier
