The Filipowski situation is definitely weird, but what are the Jazz supposed to do about it?
The Jazz recently released a statement that basically said "we did a background check and we're comfortable with everything going on. Excited about who he is as a person and not concerned at all"
Which leads me to believe two things could be going on
1.) Everything that is being said is an exaggeration the Jazz looked into the allegations found them to be overblown and decided to move forward with him
2.) All the allegations are true and the Jazz looked into them and said "Well what are we supposed to do about that" it's a personal relationship outside the scope of our control, and nothing is technically illegal."
The Mormon part of it is also interesting to me. Disclaimer I am active in the Mormon church but also try to be as critical as I can be with my biases, but in the end all my friends that are mormon would find it super weird to see a 26 year old dating an 18 year old whether Male or Female, in fact the single youth ward in my area highly discourages and watches out for older men specifically trying to date anybody that is significantly younger than them. Also I haven't done deep research but how active in the church is she? Doesn't sound like she served a mission (she was busy too grooming a minor to do that) Does she have the LDS church linked in her instagram bio? I don't know the Mormon thing being thrown out as soon as he is drafted by Utah seems weird.
Anyways I think this whole situation is bonkers, and it sucks that the Jazz now have another mark against them as the "weird" team in the NBA
