Never accept a tip bait
Had an order today where absolutely nothing went wrong. The order was correct and I met the customer exactly where he told me to meet. Yet he still removed the tip. So after my shift I tried my luck with support to get it back. Chat support was no help, they kept regurgitating the same “tips are optional” and “tips can be edited up to 1 hour after delivery” lines. I’m 99% sure I was just talking to AI during that chat.
After that failed I tried my luck with phone support. Predictably, the first agent said nothing could be done, which I know is part of the script they’re given. So I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor actually listened to my complaint and gave me the $6 that the customer took away. I also asked her to block that customer which she did.
If you get tip baited you can get it back if you’re persistent with support. It might seem like too much effort just to get back a few bucks, but it’s about the principle too. If I agree to do a job for a certain amount I should get nothing less than that amount every time.
