So... last week, I subscribed monthly to a delivery of 5lb pet food from a small business, selecting UPS SurePost because it was a little cheaper than UPS Ground and I got a "attempted delivery"notification via email Sat. It says USPS will now deliver it next business day. Did I have to sign for it?

I'm a little confused because it's a small bag of pet food weighing probably 5lbs and when I've ordered from this small business last month, UPS Ground just dropped it off on my front porch and left. The statement of "attempted delivery" on this particular order suggests that perhaps they wanted me to sign for the package directly but please correct me if I'm wrong. I never selected this option. Was it selected for me because it's UPS SurePost instead of UPS Ground?

The notification also claims they left a note with instructions so I looked outside my front door and there was no sticker or note with instructions anywhere or any evidence that they've been to my door. Usually if I'm supposed to sign off on a package, and I'm not available to answer the door, UPS will leave a sticker with instructions that says "Delivery attempt 1, will come back tomorrow on blah blah blah between these times"

I never selected a sign-off option at all. Was there some kind of mix up where my account has selected this option for some reason? Does it have something to do with me selecting UPS SurePost over UPS Ground.

Lastly, apparently I'm having a hard time signing on to my UPS account because I forgot my username and they haven't give me an email update on that just yet so I'm not even able to view my online account to see what's going on. If anyone can shed some light on this weird issue, that would be nice. I think since it got transferred over to USPS, they'll probably just deliver it tomorrow without requiring me to sign off on it hopefully since I'll be busy during the daytime. Anyway, thanks for any advice you guys can provide for me in this post. Have a nice weekend!
