Career Change Suggestions?
I'm 28m & have worked in the talent/influencer marketing space since graduating University approximately six years ago.
Whilst I've built a good network of contacts in the space, enjoy the work and have hope that the industry will continue to grow, I'm having my doubts and want to look at potentially moving into a new space.
Next week I'm due to start my fourth role in the aforementioned six years:
Role 1 redundant after two years due to COVID
Role 2 I was at for two years then got an offer from elsewhere
Role 3 was a tech company I was made redundant at after a year (Jan 23 to Jan 24)
Role 4 begins next week for what looks to be quite a flimsy and unsustainable small company.
As I mentioned, I love this industry, but when times are hard (which they always seem to be), influencer marketing budgets for brands aren't exactly seen as critical!
I have always loved working with people, am a confident/extroverted type, love to create, lead teams etc. The three things that have always been in the back of my mind are the following:
The Police - studied criminology at University and enjoyed. Would love the feeling of bringing justice to those who need it, but have friends who went that direction post-university and none of them are exactly ambassadors.
Law - It's something I'd previously studied to a degree and enjoyed. It would be the best way to try and match my current salary again (£55,000), but I know is a lot of work in training contracts, finding and funding a conversion course etc.
Psychology - Potentially the most interesting of the three to me, but I know it'll be 10 years before I'm earning the same kind of money I've been seeing these last couple of years (although it seems far less likely I'll be routinely made redundant in the field).
I'd love to hear the thoughts generally of people who've made quite large industry switches, particularly due to corporate instability of late, anyone who's entered the above fields I've mentioned, or any suggestions for things I could potentially look into based on the above!
EDIT
I should add those three industries/professions are listed because they're things I've always been passionate about and enjoyed learning about. I'm trying to weigh or consider them as day-to-day careers and the pros/cons.
