For anyone who's taken phys 121 at Parkland College, can you get by without buying the textbook?
To be specific, my professor is Curtis Shoaf and I hope to transfer the credit for UIUC phys 101.
None of the problems are from the textbook and he has lecture notes. Yet, he insists on reading the book carefully and says that "anything from the textbook is fair game for exams." However, other threads claim most problems come from homework problems. In the past, I've passed many classes and realized too late that I barely needed the textbook at all. I'm inclined to think it's somewhat of a ploy to get us to spend more money. :/
