Background
Following conflicting reports, it's unclear whether U2 will appear tonight at the twin Fire Aid concerts for the digital telethon live from Los Angeles. The concerts benefit people affected by the wildfires in the city in recent weeks. The Edge and Bono both have homes near the affected area in Malibu and Hollywood Hills respectively. Thankfully, it appears that their homes have survived. Producer Jacknife Lee also has a studio nearby at Topanga Canyon.
Latest rumors, via u2songs.com, speculate that (members of) U2 may appear unannounced, perhaps remotely as has been the case for similar events in the past. Meanwhile, organizer Irving Azoff (also U2's manager at Full Stop Management) has said superstars like Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift will not appear, and that any artist performing tonight has a connection to Los Angeles. Lastly he teased that the opening act will be "a collaboration of two massive artists". Although Azoff doesn't want to give away who it might be, he promises more unannounced acts and collaborations on the night while neither confirming nor denying U2's alleged involvement.
Regardless, here is the official lineup alongside links to streaming services. Azoff mentioned that the concerts will be available on demand for a week.
Event Time
The telethon begins:
- Kia Forum: 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST.
